2008 Comes to an End

Thought I better get a blog up before 2008 comes to it's end....

December brought a lot of snow to us..... maybe not as much snow as other parts of the country are use to, it was a lot for our area..... And though over the course of 14 days of snow.... it would melt a little before snowing again.... so it was difficult to get a true measurement of total snow fall.... I do know right before Christmas I measured and my ruler wasn't long enough! The snow fall has stopped for now and we have begun our thaw! But here are some pictures I took over the course of our lovely snow days!

Our oldest, Tucker......

Our Middle Man Logan.....

And the last of the crew.... Caden

December 18th, we were snowed in and could not get the car out..... So hubby stayed home that day..... He got out and played with the kid's motorcycle! :D

This was looking out or door.... normally there is a small porch there..... As you can see the car is beginning to get buried.... It got deeper then that!

He's is in one of the walking paths.... He did not like having to make his own!

Some low light pictures..... top one is behind out house and the bottom one is looking out away from our house into town.

Not only did we have a ton of snow on the ground for Christmas, it snowed a bunch more Christmas Eve into Christmas Day!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Brisk Early Morning Sunrise

I was able to get out and take some shots the other morning of the sun coming up over the mountains. Though it's hard to tell, the mountains do have a dusting of snow on them.

It was about 18 degree's out when I was taking these...... it was way to cold for my liking...... Since these we have been dumped with more snow! LOTS more snow..... those pictures are coming. :) Have a blessed day.

White Weekend

All week the news has been saying we were to have a winter storm... prepare for cold and snow. And around here you just never know how much to believe. But Friday the winds kicked in like they said. Not to bad, so when we lost power about 3:30 in the afternoon I was a bit surprised.

That night we still had no power so we headed into town to look into another form of heat, and some food. After a night of games by candle light and flashlights, the kids were bundles up in the living room with "sock pajamas" and lots of blankets! Some time in the wee hours of the early morning the power returned! So thankful. Along with the power the snow had begun to fall as well.

Saturday was spent inside, warm and cleaning up around the house..... we didn't know if we would lose the power again or not.... The snow fell off and on through out the day, but nothing to major. It wasn't until around 6 or so did the snow just decide to come non stop. The amount on the ground accumulated pretty good by the time we headed to bed. This is what our Sunday morning looked like at our place. With icy roads and all.

This is our road..... it it was super icy!
